Lipnica Mala, Poland
Lipnica Mala, like its larger neighboring village
Lipnica Wielka, was once
a Slovak village. Prior to the border change in 1920 it was known
as Mala Lipnica. In both langauges it means "lesser Lipnica".
It has a population today of just about 2,900. The village is
near the famous Babia Gora peak which can be seen from most anywhere
in the village. The village was settled in 1608 by peasants lfeeing
from Zywiec, Poland. The villages church and belfry were built
in the 1700s.
